Getting Over The Best Man Speech Challenge
I just got a call from my cousin Alex. He is getting married to Kate. I was aware of that and I congratulate him. But then he said something, which, I am not sure if I should be too much happy or excited about. Guess what, he asked me to be his best man. Well, being chosen to play the role of the best man is of course a great honor. And I thanked Alex for that. But I am not very comfortable; I am scared of public speaking. The very thought of giving the best man speech standing in the reception hall in front of so many people . . . . it’s freakingly daunting. It has scared the hell out of me to be honest. But I know that there’s no way I can give it a skip and hence the best way to deal with the damn thing is to actually nail it down. Easier said than done. But if you are willing nothing can stop you, not even delivering best man speeches that would not only be decent but would in fact stun the audience.
So, what I did was did some research on best man speeches quickly. I read several articles and best man speech blog posts and particularly watch some online best man speech videos to get the initial idea. At the end of the day I felt that it wasn’t that scary after all. I then quickly get the speech written. I took the help of my friend who is good at writing and also from a few sample best man speeches I found in a site called BestManSpeechInsight.com. The speech is already written and my girlfriend told me that it is really good. Now to make sure that I actually can deliver it without getting panicky I’m rehearsing it at least a couple of times a day. The wedding is a couple of weeks away and I have enough time to practice more. I am now slowly getting the confidence which is absolutely vital to produce great best man speeches. I’m getting there, slowly but surely. What about you?
