PPI mis-selling check
The FSA has made a benchmark for firms to recheck the PPI mis-selling policies to the consumers, while warnings and fines are also issued and taken from lenders who sell PPI in an illegal way. The firms that mis-sold PPI policies is reinvestigated so that the PPI sold to the consumers are compensated accordingly.
Many firms have agreed to review sales of single missold PPI policies and to compensate clients who would come forward for PPI claim. The new rule which is laid down has made it mandatory before all the firms to undertake such a review and from it huge number of cases are expected which will line up for PPI compensation. Firms will take up cases of PPI sales since July 2007
The firms review large number of rejected complaints, reveals a report. Some firms have rejected nearly the complaints of the consumers that is forwarded to the FOS thereby getting a verdict in their favor.
Though there has been investigation signals sent to the companies to check PPI mis selling, still there is an alarming increase in the missold PPI policies. Despite warnings about poor sales practices, backed by enforcement cases and related fines, the PPI sector still needs the FSA to keep a watch on the whole system.
It is the responsibility of the FSA to make stronger enforcement action against firms of not taking customer’s complaints seriously.Mistakes are repeated which becomes intolerable at times. Huge fines are imposed on firms that have complaints on them so that consumers get a safe deal to clinch while they borrow loan.
