Pug Dog Information For People Who Are Considering Adopting One

If you are contemplating adding a pug to the family, there is some pug dog information you may want to know ahead of time. They are short-haired dogs and yet they shed heavily at certain times of the year. As they are little dogs and have such sweet personalities, they will not make good guard dogs. Pugs are also quite sensitive to the heat so they are not suitable as workout partners, nor should they be kept outside a lot, especially when it is hot. Their facial construction, including their “pushed in” noses makes them heavy snorters and snorers.Like many dog breeds, pugs are prone to certain health concerns. Their short legs give them a propensity for developing hip dysplasia and patellar luxation, which is a dislocating of the knees. Their short faces often lead to encephalitis, pinched nostrils, corneal ulcers and an elongated soft palette.Be that as it may, the pug is actually an easy to care for and healthy breed.  Like any other breed it does have it’s negatives, but the positives of a fun, loyal and loving breed certainly outweigh them.  Since they are great with kids and don’t really need a lot of exercise, Pugs are perfect for families as well as people who  live in apartments or don’t have a lot of time for walking the dog. There is a Latin phrase that can be applied easily to pug dogs. The phrase is “multum in parvo” which translates in English to “much in little.” Pugs come in little packages but offer a lot in return. Any home with a pug is enriched with love and loyalty that is not easily found elsewhere.
