Review: Timber Frame Pergola; Backyard Utah
How many people would have a timber frame pergola if they had the chance to get one? Probably everyone that was asked this question and knew what a pergola was, right? If your answer is no, than perhaps you don’t know too much about the pergola? So, lets start with the self explanatory beginning and explain what a pergola is: a pergola is a garden or backyard structure that is constructed with pillars that support a lattice or cross beam work to provide shade or a kind of trellis for vine plants can grow upon. Because of the nature of the pergola, it is used as extensions to buildings, a walkway or a covering for a pathway, or links from garden to garden. If they are singular, and just used in the backyard, they are used beautifully for coverings for your patio, hot tub, pool deck etc. They are absolutely beautiful and add such a GRANDEUR scene for the eye.
Pergolas are very versatile and can be moved wherever they need to be moved to. For instance, if you all of a sudden placed and secured your pergola in the wrong place, and you decided upon a different spot, than it is easily unsecured and again secured in the correct spot. Taking it along from house to house as you move is a cinch as well.
Another thing is there is a reason it is a timber framed pergola. Wood and timber are usually thought of as building essentials, but some people don’t realize the importance for the timber. Especially in pergolas. It should be noted, though, that pergolas have been made out of different materials, such as aluminum, iron, and vinyl, but there is no guarantee for the stability of those materials as there is with the wood. Here is why:
The timber is very flexible in weather swings and moves “naturally” with mother nature. So, no sudden freezing of the plants because of the metal, no heated and scorched plants because of the heat, and no “melted” or non – cleanable pergola as a result of the sun and vinyl in which it is made. The timber is the most natural, but also the most stable in any sense. There are of course uses for the other materials, especially if there is a specific use for them. Such as, if they are in an enclosed pathway where shade is covering them, or it is completely surrounded with plants to protect the metal and vinyl, than they would work fabulous. But on the chance that there is no guarantee, the wood framed pergola in Utah is the best material. The wood that it is made out of is the cedar, or redwood pine. Both VERY stable woods as well.
