What is a discount ?A discount is a cash amount off the advertised or recognised price of a product or service.You can obtain a discount on retail price lists and also on wholesale price lists. Most shoppers today do not realise that in many case discounts are available just for asking. Many retailers build in to their price structure a little extra margin to allow for giving a discount. Also in today’s market place retailers are concerned with cash flow and they need to maintain a good flow of funds to survive so what with the global financial meltdown and other local factors they are more than willing to discount to get a sale if they need to. You will be surprised where you can get a discount and I was recently in the market for some kid’s furniture and I went as usual straight to EBay where I found that there is a couple of new features. They now have best offer which enables prospective purchasers to make an offer or get a discount, each buyer gets the chance to make 3 offers to try to snag a bargain. I think that’s great but wait there is more they also now give their sellers the opportunity to go on sale so you will find items which are marked up to 50% off. Then I turned my attention to Google where I fired in a search for sydney children’s furniture which returned lots of great on line stores all of whom were offering some type of discount on the items they were offering for sale. I followed this up with another Google search this time using the words discount childrens furniture. Let me tell you that I was so surprised that I could get a discount on so many great items that I ended up buying several more items than I originally set out to purchase. So what is a discount it’s a saving on a purchase and all you need to do is ask for it. But its also a dangerous thing as well as it can be harmfull to your budget
