Baby Nursery Decoration Tips For Parents
When you are expecting a baby, you often find yourself excited and even find that you are eager to decorate. Don’t worry about how you decorate your child’s nursery, because you are not alone. There are several sources you can use as baby nursery decoration tips.
Decorating a baby’s room can at first appear to be a bit intimidating. Not to worry though, no matter what you choose, your child will love it. Babies love bright colors, but remember bright colors keep your baby alert and happy. Often times parents use neutral colors for their child’s room because, because these specific colors, especially Earth colors, can be soothing and relaxing for your baby.
The general rule of thumb when it comes to decorating is, if the colors appear relaxing and soothing to you it will to your baby. If you choose colors that are bright, erratic, and make you feel awake and alert, then they will also affect your baby in that manner. This is why so many parents decorate their nurseries in Earthy browns, yellows, greys, and even pastels.
When your baby first comes home from the hospital, keep in mind that for the first couple of months your baby will sleep a lot. You want their room, and their area for sleeping is as relaxing to them as possible. You will also want to ensure that their sleep area, while being relaxing, is also safe.
It is recommended that you as a parent, never place pillows, stuffed animals, or even baby quilts in your child’s bed. These items can cause your child great harm and be fatal. Although you may find some items that may go excellent with the d’cor you choose, never place anything in your child’s bed. It is even recommended in some states that bumper pads should no longer be used regardless of how old your child may be.
When decorating a nursery the most important thing to ensure is that everything ranging from your wall paper, paint, and lighting, is safe for your child. There are still several paints on the market available that are lead based. Although the environmental protection agency has tried to make manufacturers discontinue the use of these specific type of paint’s, there are still a few companies that use them. Always check the ingredients of a product prior to using it in your child’s room.
Although hanging stuffed animals in or near your child’s bed may perhaps seem like an interesting decorating technique, it is highly advised to keep all objects that can construct your child’s breathing away from your child’s bed. Some parents paint murals on the wall that the crib is on, while others paint murals on the walls and ceilings.
Ceiling murals, while being an excellent idea, can often not be seen by a baby because their eyes have not properly adjusted to the light of the world. These murals make an excellent decorating idea for when your child gets older. Children are often drawn to bright colors, and items which light up. This is why many parents purchase mobiles for their baby’s crib. Some mobiles these days come equipped with a projector which projects scenery, animals, and even land scape pictures on a nurseries wall and ceiling, while playing lullabies to keep your baby calm and to relax them.
Maintaining a well lit area is a definite must for babies. No one likes to sit around in the dark, especially children. Some parents often place rocking chairs in their baby nursery next to a window so that while they rock their child, their baby also gets to watch the world outside of their room.
The most important aspect when decorating a room for your baby is their focal points. If a child spends most of their time in their bed, then your main focus for room d’cor and wall murals should be eye level with your child so that they can enjoy the murals. This doesn’t mean to only paint murals next to your child’s bed, but rather all around the room.
The older a baby becomes the more active and curious they become as well. There are toys made specifically for this which not only serve as entertainment but also decorating purposes as well. You would be amazed at how the simplest of things can help add a special something to your d’cor. Some parents even use special alphabet puzzles to spread about and hang on the walls. No matter how you decide to decorate your child’s nursery, so long as you keep safety first and make it a relaxing, yet stimulating atmosphere, your baby will enjoy it.
