The responsibility to send birthday greetings is yours
Greetings come in many different forms and languages. Just because you don’t understand all the other languages, doesn’t mean that greetings in that language are any less sincere. In fact, if you would open your eyes and get outside of your little circle, you might actually find some greetings that you like better than the ones you’re getting now.
There are two kinds of people in the world of greetings: those who greet and those who don’t. It could be argued that the second group would then not be part of the world of greetings, and I’ll concede that. But they still have birthdays, dont’ they? Aren’t they entitled to the most special of all greetings – the birthday greeting?
Yes they are, but let’s rewind for a second. Why are birthday greetings the most special of all? Well, what other event is as important as the day you were born? The one exception would be Christmas, because Christ was born on that day and he is greater than you and I. But besides that, our birthdays are the most important for us.
You might want to remember that the next time a birthday rolls around. You can no longer treat it like just another day now that you have this knowledge. It is like Spiderman’s dad said: with great power (of birthday greetings), comes great responsibility (to send those birthday greetings). Since most of us would have liked to be Spiderman at one point in our lives, how can we deny this advice?
